Hi, I’m Caroline Thomas, GP Partner. We’relooking for another GP to join our happy squad now at Academy Medical Centre. We havemodern, well saved comfortable assertions. We’re situated in the heart of Forfar in the StrathmoreValley, 15 miles north of Dundee in Scotland. What is it like to work at Academy Medical Centre? We control telephone triage andour admin staff are experienced in effective signposting, bothto physio, regional pharmacies, our minor injury unit nearby within Forfar, and of course our mental health team on site. These guys are mental health peer workersand patient support advisors, and are now indispensable to the practice. They make areal difference by exploring the social perspectives that impact on the mental health ofour patients and help sort them. Our district harbours are also on the place. Yep, bigpremises. They provide assistance with reviewing housebound cases of course, but likewise doingobservations and chest investigations centrally, much needed extra eyesand ears out in the community. Last-place, but by no means least, our newestaddition…Our pharmacy crew: remove drug, involved remedy interactions, drugs out of stock … they have your back. Gorgeous crew. To add to that combination, fourhealthcare assistants, four nurse practitioner and four GPs, and you have Team Academy. Weactually work together and get along; maybe that’s the reason we’ve got such steadfast long-standingstaff members. So, come along and meet us! Our perfectly equipped minor ops room: referralsare taken from all the neighbourhood traditions. We use ICE for test askings and have directaccess to a large number of investigations including CT and MRI checks. Hi, I’m Dr Denholm. I’ve been asked to talkabout the benefits of relocating to Forfar. This is because I’ve got recentexperience having done it 2 years ago. From the beginning I should say that i preferred thesurgery because of its advertised squad approach and I’ve not been disillusioned. Otherwise in thelines of a well-known Scottish film, I preferred life-time! I hope to show, through a few cases illustrations, how lifeis better for me and my partner here in Scotland. Forfar is just over one hour’s drive fromEdinburgh or Aberdeen, and slightly more from Glasgow. There are good railroad and aura linksto the rest of the UK. For example my partner regularly walks for drudgery and by exploiting Dundeeairport she can go to London and back in the same day. We do most of our leisure travel throughEdinburgh airport. Just before the first lockdown we can really fly instantly from Edinburgh tothe Maldives. As we know, things have been a little bit different since then; nonetheless, despiteCovid-1 9, in the last few years I’ve managed to enjoy countless outdoor quests as Scotland offersamazing opportunities right on our doorstep. We have skied in luminous sunshine…The nearestslopes are a mere 45 instants drive away; pitched the length of the River Tay byCanadian canoe; climbed countless mountains; I’ve street cycled in all regions of the beautiful RoyalDeeside; “were having” holidayed on the Isle of Skye, and this year are planning a superhighway tripon the fantastic North Coast 500. Our dog Cara experiences walkings and miles of sand atLunan Bay, forest routes in Glen Clova and, more locally, the grounds of Glamis Castle. Anotherpassion of mine is live boast, specially rugby, and we have season tickets to watch Scotland playat Murrayfield Stadium. This year we will be able to watch the Open golf at nearby St Andrews.Dundee and Perth offer shopping, restaurants, museums and theatre. We enjoy live music and haveover 12 neighbourhood occurrences planned to take place the rest of 2022! Our scenery is spectacular and the weather isbetter than you might think. We are lucky to live in the beautiful Carse of Gowrie. House tolls arecompetitive now and we have space to entertain. Many of our friends have already called usfrom England, and some are already planning their second trip. The Academy teamis good but our site is better! Give Forfar and Scotland a chance…I doubt you would bitternes it!
