Hi there, and welcome to this week’s editionof your Wheel and Anchor weekly newsletter. This week i wanted to talk a little bit aboutairline change rewards. A number of members have been messaging me over the last couple of weeks, veryexcited because they’ve started to diary flights, having received vaccines and in anticipationthat hopefully by the latter part of the summer and the precipitate, we’ll be able to actually travelagain. Constituent of the fervor is to ensure that earlier in the pandemic, as you will recall, theairlines tried to alleviate the be emphasised that beings had about deletions andflight changes and so on, so they implemented a plan where “theyre saying”‘ no change fees – we’re notgoing to charge you to change your ticket anymore’ and of course that established a lot ofexcitement, particularly for those of us that have regarded tickets and were planning to travel. And really, with all the uncertainty, what better bulletin than there being no changefees! But, i think that a lot of people be pointed out that no change fees doesn’t actually mean that youcan simply make the same flight on the same route on another year in the future without morefor it.This is the big-hearted flaw and it’s – I hesitate to use the word fine print becauseit is written there in the politics of the airline with regards to change costs – but inactual fact while the the fee that they accuse for the actual deepening of the ticket is in fact forfeited, in many cases there’s a great deal of variousconditions that are connected to that, will vary depending on the fare that you booked and so on. If thedifference in the fare for the ticket on the year that you want to fly is higher, you are goingto pay a higher fee, and that’s particularly important because as we get back to traveling andthere’s that flow in demand that i was talking about in previous weeks newsletters, it doesmean that fares are going to start to rise up. So even though you got a cheap fare today for, let’s say a outing happening in September, if you decide to postpone that to October or November, and on that same roadway all of a sudden there’s a big demand and the airline invokes the grub, youare going to pay an additional fee for that.Let’s take a moment to look at theAir Canada website. Now, I don’t mean to pick on Air Canada, because this policy applies to a lotof airlines, but you can see up now on the homepage where it says no change fee. Let’s go now andclick on’ record’ and down to fare options and rewards. So I’m going to go down now and click on’international ‘, although the same policy also applies for domestic flights. When the screen comesup, what you can see here is Air Canada’s different fare natures, and specifically down now where itsays anytime modification or one free improve reform. If you click on the little information box now, what you’ll notice is it clearly was of the view that any fair inconsistency – i.e the fare forthe new flight you book is higher than the fare you originally bought – will also apply, and that’s what i’m talking about, because basically this means that whatever you paid todaydoesn’t mean you can fly on the same route later on for the same price. If the price of the fare atthat time when you originate the deepen is higher, then you’re certainly “re going to be” dinged with the extraairfare. So, i hope you find that information useful, because I is a well-known fact that as I mentioned, a good deal of youare running out to to buy tickets for future journeys, and i just want to make sure that everybodyis clear what no change fee actually represents. In any case I’m really excited as over thenext few weeks we’re going to be launching some evoking programs. A couple of them or oneof them is still a repeat from last year – that’s Ireland and that’s happening this coming Thursday, Maythe 6th at 11 o’clock, where we’ll write about our wonderful trip-up around the Emerald Isle, so tunein for that. In the week following, on May 13 th we have a brand-new and quite a different program- it’s actually a private dahabia cruise down the Nile in Egypt. Some of our members camewith me on what was effectively the last Wheel and Anchor trip before the pandemic, and we had amarvellous time on a beautiful carry skippering down the Nile and seeing all of these incrediblearchaeological websites. This one is something one gradation even beyond that, because i have been able to securethis breathtaking private jug – it has there six compartments on board, so it’s a private cruise, just for us. We need only 12 representatives so only six couples, or singles can go along as well. I had a wonderful trip with the egyptologist that’sgoing to escort the group for the entire time, and it is really an incredible way totour the Nile. So, the webinar for that program is going to happen on May the 13 th at 11 o’clock am, our normal age. And then, at long last, on May the 20 th I’m going to be launching our brand-new andthe first in our streak of’ 5×5′ platforms. A 5×5 platform is wasting five nightsin five ends( in actual fact our first one shall be used to six) and you have flexibility onwhere you begin the trip, so you don’t have to do all five stops – you can do three, or four, or five, or whatever your choice may be. It’s a combination between a more structured, organized curriculum where we pack in the highlights of the the destination for you, but likewise give yousome free time, in a number of cases with a with a city card or a city pass and some guidance for some ofthe other things that you can enjoy on your own. It certainly gratifies a lot of our members requestsfor a slower pace trip-up, with duration on your own to be able to do your own thing, while at the same timehaving a host.I’ll be hosting the first one and of course our local guidebooks will be there to to assistyou along the way. It’s an exciting and innovative path to travel. Our first junket is going to be at the endof June of next year, and we’ll be propelling this program in our webinar on May the 20 th at 11 o’clock EST! So please do join us for that one, and there’s lots more in storeof course beyond that. So take care, as I stop saying I’m sure there’s a light-colored at the endof that passageway, and we’ll get through this all very soon.I’ve heard a lot of members have beenvaccinated once, and that’s terrific story, so I’m sure that by the end of this summer we’ll be able to look back on this and get back to traveling again. So in themeantime, take care and we’ll see you next week !.
