so excited to take to you restyled accompanies one chap going through a full transformation fragrance skincare pair and form up first it’s johnny so i had 56 people apply to be restyled which really blew my thought frankly i was so thrilled so i’m hoping that our first guy hello johnny hello marriage natalie will pave the way for many more restart episodes to come now you might be ogling making robin dangerously what this chap looks great but i should say johnny has got a real story and i really think he deserves this experience he’s a chap that looks like he’s got it all you know he’s in terrific shape but truth be told he is on a transformative artery after the darkest epoches of his life johnny nice to meet you thank you for having me welcome to restyled yeah i’m elicited yeah you’re the first guy which i know which i’m super elicited about no distres on you then no no persuade on me yeah utterly today i’m going to get you in for a chip yep you’re going to be with ben who is my barber yeah we’re then going to see do a skincare consultation lab studies have added all the skincare products we’re going to do a penetrating dive on those commodities to find something that out then we’re going to time some balm excellent but smell with a quirk okay you don’t know about that okay and then some styling gorgeous let’s like fast forward to the end of this how do you hope you’re going to feel um for me i want to feel good so i think that’s important i feel disagreeable as well as searching the component so by the end of it especially with my kind of most recent events over the last few years it’s all about feeling good um and if you’re looking good you’re gonna feel good and that is the whole part of this you know we’ve all control some sort of makeover show where they just chuck someone into something and you think well actually how do you feel with that yeah and here i am thinking actually having a skincare routine and having some sweetnes yeah having a cup that clothings you are able to do so much for you and you know there’ll be people watching this maybe at the end and think oh i actually didn’t like that if i thought maybe you searched better before it doesn’t matter you know as long as you’re feeling good you mentioned there about having maybe a tough couple of years um and for parties watching this i mean you’re stacked your tints you glance good but it’s not always been like this has it it’s not i convey 2019 an episode in 2019 changed my life um when i look back on it now i would say since maybe 2013 turn of 2014 i was just unhappy genuinely miserable and i was spawning bad live picks i was hurt and i was i’d smash the self-destruct button and without known better at the time and with that go you know just so unhappy truly fallen into a whole of recession but without knowing what it actually was impelled really bad life picks started self-medicating um turning to to illegal elements as a prop on a daily basis um and losing its relations with my children as well who were you know very young at that place and and now rebuilding that night but i didn’t realize that i was ill i thought that i was a bad person and the more bad decisions i made and the more beings that got hurt the worse i felt so it was like a vicious circle and the worse i felt then the more disappointed i got and it all came to a whisker in in 2019 and um um where i i took an overdose and made my then spouses um prescription analgesics very strong and it there was that a few minutes where i actually anticipated i’m gonna take the rest of these and i don’t really help i’m done i completed in a lethargy um my family and loved ones were told that i wasn’t gonna make it um and that yeah be prepared for the worst he’s not going to pull through however someone or for some reason it wasn’t my era and thank goodness for that and when i woke up in research hospitals and saw my loved ones and my family around me that’s when it reach me that was like what are you done and i think seeing the look upon their faces and i knew i was in a bad way but i felt more for them and i made a decision on that day that i woke up that you know what no matter what happens i’m never going to introduced anyone through this again and i’m going to get better but it’s not like flicking a swap with mental health issues it’s always there it’s always there but it’s how you re address it how you recognize it and i countenance it i think it’s a big thing this happened me 2 years ago this month this is why this is really special for me today because even more of a new beginnings but two years ago this month is when that happened i i was so heavy i was so overweight i was so disgusted with myself and at the turn of this year um then it was all right okay i need to start feeling even better you know i still have massive suspicion i still don’t like the space i look i still have you know i really i miss i’m always i’ve recognized i’m always kind of searching for more all the time and i shouldn’t be those are probably things that you are able to always yeah always but the fact that you can recognize those that’s the thing and you are aware of the fact those trigger points and you know what does you feel good you know you’re in a brand-new liaison yeah yeah yeah you are very open about how you’re feeling yeah it’s kind of like that communication and huge and i think you know as husbands we don’t often discuss things like this and again you know someone moved past you on the street and think oh that guy’s gonna oh you know he looks great he’s you simply don’t know what’s going on no and we all have those kind of demons and the stuff that’s in our head and i’m not good enough and i need to be like this and she won’t like me if this and this and this yeah but again yeah only getting to know yourself that’s it is important and stuff like this yes it’s very aesthetic and it’s very much like okay your skincare is not going to change your life but these little things are just going to give you those little raises really to make you feel good and it’s about a ritual of having that time in the morning or in the night and precisely is necessary to yourself only to decompress yeah and envision kind of what offsets you feel good and the first step in creating a new confidence boosting chore for johnny is a fresh section and a beard shape up now i’ve taken him to murdoch barbers in covent garden to meet with headboarder ben vowles so this haircut is not concerned with a total change but it is about really meeting everything that little bit sharper squaring off the overall condition of the piece will help to define johnny’s very chiseled features and truly establish more of that “hairs-breadth” on top now johnny is keen to grow his hair out at the moment so the segment has been impeded but the back and areas have been taken much shorter to really create that illusion of section on top and for styling it’s all about the magnitude exploiting murdoch’s own sea salt sud then with the nozzle in the hairdryer ben moments in an uphill direction to really add some altitude to the hair and when it comes to the beard this is all about adornment and fading hard lines and beards can appear styled but a more natural freedom finish is a more contemporary and way forward look now a top tip if you’re unsure about where to stop on your neck residence a thumb above your adam’s apple and start there bang on a zero and work up to a longer length ben lends a little bit of beard salve to requirement the scalp and mane and apparently to keep that wording neat now johnny’s hair was previously styled with a slightly burnished concoction sure that can look good but it’s not the best option for chaps who are conscious of thinning or any sort of recession parts but use a matte finish make like this texture paste not only fixes the “hairs-breadth” inspect thicker but it also presents it a more refined and smooth finish oh johnny what a vibe really is amazing the supremacy of a haircut really a little tweak to really refine that appear no let’s come sorted with a skincare procedure okay new “hairs-breadth” brand-new beard feeling good feeling good feeling good so now i want to get you into some skincare okay what sort of steps do you currently have um apart from in the beach straight out a little bit moisturizer out the door okay that’s the steps okay so that’s great i i think you know having any sort of routine i think is really good yeah a face move and a moisturizer yeah huge that’s it i think we can definitely add a few cases new products in there okay okay and in front of you we have the full laboratory sequence array yeah and lab successions are a brand that i’ve been running for 30 years so they’ve got all the technology behind it they’ve actually time had a rebrand so okay they’ve basically made this all a lot simpler for guys like us to know what these produces do and i’ve got some key products here that i think are really going to get you where you want to be with your skincare yeah so i want to start you with a wash so in any sort of routine for bark care you just wanted to basically really ensure you’ve got like a clean canvas so at night and in the morning yeah the main difference i would say for the morning is because you’ve got this beard i would get a little bit of exfoliation and time to really clean into that whisker to soothe the scalp underneath it really ensure that you’ve kind of got a good sort of um base do you ever get a sort of itchy beard yeah yeah so that tended to be baked scalp so with an exfoliator you’re going to be able to do that up slightly so i’ve got this one here this is the all-in-one and i should say for the we’re going to splashing it onto the face and what to do first of all is just work it into your hands and then you’re really going to focus on that beard here so exactly round and circular emotions yeah you don’t have to be heavy-handed with it yeah must be considered your skin as a lovely cashmere scarf nice and soft so this is going to help to sort of smooth the skin with exfoliating it’s gonna help to purify it so just really get it clean so we can now get that off i would say a face cloth is your friend with stuff like this okay cool lovely how is that feeling yeah good fresh fresh fresh fresh okay as i said you know the most simple of any number would be a cleanser and a moisturizer but we’re gonna do a little bit more for you so have you ever worked a toner no no so a toner really is on to clean skin it’s going to help to sort of balance out the ph of the surface sometimes you’re using a clean it might divest it but it’s also kind of again going to set that sort of canvas for the skin so we have a toner here water cream okay and this is an anti-age range it’s not a dis candidly but it’s just a great stray that’s going to look after slightly more mature bark you just want to have a little splash on the old hand and cause that little smell how does that reek oh that’s lovely citrusy yeah compensate good yeah little splash into the skin okay around the eyes the tender look area up onto there stinks lovely so with a toner i would say you want to leave it on for about five minutes before you put one over another sort of thing otherwise if you’re position products over each other you can start to cancel them out yeah so it’s at this place i’d be like go and get coffee read the news check your emails do whatever it’s after employing a toner that you use a serum serums are like little shots of things for your skin this is when you can tend to start to tweak interesting thing that you need this one’s going to help to brighten okay you only need about one run of that onto the sides and then simply work in okay think of it as like a little massage of the face yeah being careful around those nose arenas you don’t want to extend nice and soft and then up on the cervix and again sort of help to minimize the glance of wrinkles and puckers you’re not wrinkly you’re not whiny but prevention is always better than medication okay no you missed an see ointment didn’t you yes okay so there’s a couple here there is there’s a caffeine and ginseng here and then there’s another one which is more targeted for the lines and wrinkles which is what i’d be on view these crow’s feet yeah we can get something precisely to try and help to sort of plump that okay so we have one here yep i surfaced it from me and people who have watched this direct before i keep an eye cream in the fridge because i like that morning touched neat and cool so really one spout of that if you sounds it onto your ring finger okay because that is the lightest influence and then precisely tap sound sound sound tap delightful and gently you can do a few dots around the eyes the whole orbital area and then just start to blend in and being really careful like a little angel’s touch around those showy little peepers that’s it and then finally after an look ointment i would then get the moisturizer in okay with a moisturizer there’s ladens of different options here we could go something with a bb which is a blemish balm it’s also got an spf 35 that is moving into this sort of more aesthetics and in terms of the makeup i’ll show you how it glances it’s got a little bit of coloring in it so it could take out any sort of redness in the bark enormou for a light out there’s also one now that i love this it’s a mattifying tying so basically it tends to kind of blur the sound of pores yeah it’s almost like a an instagram filter in a bottle and then there’s a third one which forms part of the anti-aging again which is a really great yeah at firming and lifting moisturizers and it’s a really light-headed cream so it’s not going to leave any sort of heavy white-hot casting on the scalp it’s not going to feel oily or greasy it’s going to really sort of hydrate we’re good feels good feeling good really good yeah yeah you’re looking fresh looking hydrated what i’m going to do is i’m going to send you away with all of this represent some time to have a play yeah there’s also a clay mask in here there’s another toner there’s another sort of face wash play with it see how you get on if something doesn’t feel right there’s no right or wrong answer and just see how you feel also if sometimes your surface feels slightly different there might be a different sort of product yeah but i would stick with the anti-age i think they’re really good especially for the brightening and the lifting now with this skincare routine created and some homework for johnny i wanted to delve into the world of smell but ensure that johnny was really picking based on what he likes rather than being hypnotized by the symbols and the labels right sweetnes i know you’ve been stimulated about this bit yeah that is the one thing if i am going to treat myself which is very rare that i would i would go to straight away even over invests or anything else that would be that one well i’m going to do this slightly differently and i’ve told you not to turn around that’s because i’ve decided that i want to do a bit of a blind testing um “youre supposed to” knew this was coming maybe no no no okay so with sweetnes i think a lot of what we think we like is to do with the marketing and with how the bottle ogles or what the refer is we have these preconceptions about well i like tom forward i like apothems to marley i like this i like this because we think we know what they are so i have got five balms okay that i think you might like um i am aware from kind of what you were saying about maybe some of those sort of leathery moods uh the tobacco veneer you mentioned is a beautiful fragrance but i think there are fragrances the hell is maybe just as good or better so are you set here so with a sweetnes initially you are going to smell those sort of top mentions so something might smell either a little more abrasive it might reek zesty make that and with this you’re just going to hold it open it a little tap smell it under the nose don’t positioned it against the bark i like that okay this is a good start he’s not being paid to say that what are you coming and again i’m just gonna just say anything that’s in your intelligence skin skin okay but soft soft yeah very warm yeah there’s in this is ability oh okay there’s yearn so it’s got a sort of a sappy freshness there’s also patchouli there is a suede note in there yes that’s what i can reek now you should say so that’s the softness yeah there’s a few cases like red berries yeah it’s a sweetness yeah yeah i can get the the berries under swede i think this one extremely is certainly seasonal i feel like i would say it’s very autumnal winter that’s kind of it has really nice i like that this has been sat for maybe about an hour and a half now okay and that’s kind of the baked down again that might smell slightly different on the skin that’s totally different than the dry bone i think it’s totally different so this is very vibrant it’s very forceful awfully very fresh opening and now it’s almost like a smokier skin on the dryer and i would say it’s the smokiness but but that’s you quite more pain okay yeah like that you like that yeah okay good start oh flavor that yeah instant that smells something like something familiar to me okay wow wow yeah well good um smells very familiar virtually smells the first thing that comes into my recollection is just a one million oh actually okay yeah from it pecker a banding yeah um very fresh yeah so it’s it’s familiar yeah i like it it’s really nice so that’s that’s it only been sprayed there again that’s about an hour and a half okay well accompany where you’re going with this sort of bundle or a banding one million that sort of yeah manny perhaps yeah okay i prefer the dry-down it’s a lot more determined but you can still what is it about this that you either like or don’t i think i i love the freshness of it yeah i to me that’s like a a daytime um announce gym yeah nice scavenge sweetnes yeah i’d say very cleaner yeah i like this sort of description of it being everyday yeah and it being sort of clean after the gym yeah because to me this this fragrance has that sort of accessibility yeah of it being kind of like something you know smellings good yeah but it’s not going to be divisive it’s only too heavy to me this is very much yeah after the gym snappy t-shirt jeans ruler yeah terribly crisp isn’t it yeah there’s an apple memo in this yeah that’s what it is so you’ve got that that’s really nice crunchy snappy fresh completely different from a yeah if i had to choose between a and b it would be a minute yeah okay the great what i like this game is that you don’t need to say just yet what you doing don’t like okay oh you’re relish my sport yes as long as you don’t blindfold me okay i i did consider the blind yeah then i thought we may be overstepped i did identify yeah blindfold and some rope i thought i was gonna be tired here perfectly you’ve gotta pay for that type of content okay are you always there thank you oh oh terribly boozy it’s the first utterance that comes into my attention boozy yeah i like this yeah yeah i really like that anything else like spicy mmm boozy is interesting but it’s tobacco right i’m getting a little bit off yeah but like moisture tobacco okay not cool i like that you stand your tobacco that’s that’s again an hour and a half ago unusually soft and soft is that a balm you know it reminded us of tobacco layer okay but is it tobacco no i don’t think it is okay is it tobacco i’m not telling you this is not the game i love that one you desire it yeah i like that that’s the kind of balms that i would be drawn to you as a consolation yeah as a huddle and fragrance with a you know a ponderous jumper on and so this one has rum so yeah slam on it with with boozy yeah and i also think with this fragrance and the mentions it’s very true to what they say isn’t it yes so there’s rum there’s tobacco and there’s gingerbread okay wow yeah so there’s a sweetness because you also mentioned before you’re like a sort of gourmand fragrance yeah i think this is goom on without sickly without being all really sweet it’s very short it’s masculine sort of a masculinity i think it’s got that boozy unix x i would say unquestionably four uni yeah okay d d okay i like this so forget what i said 30 seconds away “i m loving” this this is like nothing i’ve smelled before i love this yeah i’m saying that a lot this one i think it’s like if it’s almost like this it’s c almost like this but it’s got a little bit of a yeah none of b it’s got the freshness of b and it’s got so this has a bourbon note in it yes bourbon it’s got the booziness of of of c and virtually the leathery-ness of a but softer in my opinion it’s warm yes very warm so that is the dry dane there that’s d there’s also only a hint of a spice yep you like that i love that yeah yeah that was beautiful mmm it’s hard now i’m glad i would say that’s my favorite so far i’m glad i’ve done it in this all day um wow okay you ready for the final one yeah let’s go e this is very very fresh terribly cedar yearn or something i’m getting from that resinous regardles push this already right there’s amber in that that will give you that resonance resonance spicy there’s spice in it yeah and there’s also ginger yeah i get the ginger and oil the ginger kind of gives you that oh yeah that’s that instant yeah yeah really nice not blowing me apart no nice this is a slightly more i think slightly more um like in your face yes than than e yeah e d sorry d yeah that’s the e bake down q hmm it’s not blowing me away it’s nice yeah if i reek it on someone accompanying past i think yeah it wouldn’t blew me away it’s probably my least favorite of these oh genuinely yeah okay i think it’d be my least favorite you were dead so he is dead yeah goodbye you’re right that was come to garcon rouge come to garcon have some beautiful sweetness and i think they’re lesser known yeah this is comedy guys long rouge okay yeah yeah the thing is it doesn’t stand up stand up well done parties of selling but it does lie down like a pebble okay what you’d want yeah okay so no to e expressed appreciation for very much thank you what are you thinking um this is an extra it’s to get tricky yeah this is where it gets touchy this reminded us of like a tobacco there’s definitely vanilla in this one sorry c okay that reminded us of tobacco vernee but and i love it is it tobacco vanilla i think it’s tobacconi you think it’s tobacco yeah okay can i smell again no you’ve got one more bouquet you’ve got a phone a friend and you’ve got the 50 50. the same dior vibe from it it’s beautiful it reeks really gone on you yeah that does smelling really nice it’s great isn’t it lovely yeah lovely do you want to meet the one you picked yeah okay it’s like blind date but better it is yeah okay the one that you’ve picked is brand new okay it’s quite literally just come out it’s restraint edition okay so it’s really been launched for this carnival season there’s a bath and organization there’s a lotion it’s amazing and it is this one oh okay molten dark-brown molten dark-brown exuberant pine and patchouli okay um yeah interesting isn’t it quite interesting yeah i like that you said there was this sort of ombre leather there’s suede in there there’s also an brownish-yellow record there’s red berries there’s a patchouli on the cornerstone there’s also i’m pretty sure vanilla sweetness so i think it’s kind of blending all those sort of things that you like yeah the thing that i find quite interesting and this one that you picked was this one has gone um the kinds of the greenest tone in comparison with other ones yeah yeah yeah i can tell that night on bark i’m good i think that odors great on you yeah and here i am thinking and i’m really pleased that we’ve done it like this because i think it’s maybe opened you to a firebrand and to a kind of a scent sort of profile that you might have not gone for yeah clearly yeah yeah unquestionably uh i’ve thoroughly enjoyed that well my holiday gift from me to you is this thank you girl you’re gonna experience that natalie experiences it if she doesn’t then somebody else will have numerous flecks and bobs in here i see the key topic of this is i want to give you precisely a really consistent look i want to get you out of the trackies out of the tighten tees and i wished to merely give you something which is refined is styled and is working to a emblazon palette i’ve not got numerous hot shades now yeah because slight redness i mean you’re much like me glance better in a cool complexion yeah you’ve got bright blue looks and i think with this sort of salt and pepper coloring of the “hairs-breadth” i’d like to go down this cooler route yeah so let’s just have a quick look if you stand into the mirror with me here i’m just going to do this see i think this is too warm against your surface tone i think this sort of burnt orange nearly various kinds of forms you examine a little redder yeah whereas hold on to her for me expressed appreciation for let’s even swap out just for kind of color picking much better see i just think that is much better intro colouring and then hold on to that one too this is your next exam try something the sort of emerald feelings yeah so the blues and the greens i think is sort of better for your coloring yeah i think you’re much like me in that if you’ve got off-color seeings that’s prepares them pop let’s deter people in and around and likewise with this sort of the new fuzz and the beard i crave everything to frame it also you are a stacked guy so i think t-shirts look great on you especially when you’re kind of more into this kind of sports contended yeah yeah but something with a collar is just going to allow you to kind of open that make the body do the talking but likewise be comfortable yeah so freedom i wished to can i start you on something maybe a little sporty let’s do it yeah yeah okay so it with a flatten cervix here i am thinking will be a little bit more seasonal this could kind of get you spring summer pairing up with a sort of soft knitting yeah and gray i think it’d be really nice and then i think the boots could be too severe for this but a shoe okay yeah should we give this a turn let’s do it little stylish crowd yeah okay you gonna get changed okay oh hello hi who are you look at you i love this this is something i would never come this way choosing for myself i also feel like this sort of varsity coat is very age-appropriate i think so it’s not too boasts teenager casually yeah it looks great yeah i like those trousers on youtube “i m loving” the trousers yeah they’re great really nice fit really nice yep the appearance on you is great extremely because you’re really evidencing the wide shoulders it’s plucking your waist in yeah taken away from the cap a instant let’s have a little look thank you okay i means that you look incredible yeah i love that i’ve never heard of no pattern like before i mean you learned i think it was because i thought i wouldn’t shoot it or i’d be disagreeable when i a product neither your figure yeah i love it astonishing because also glance how this is sitting in on the waist yeah yeah i’ve always discovered it quite difficult to to find something that fits here and here it’s either either or but this is sitting really well it’s not too tight you’ve got all that shape there okay i really like this yeah but i want to try something different okay so let’s use this as a basis gang neck rather than a real neck
