An adult woman and a teenage boy are hospitalized after they were shot by their stepfather in Mansfield, police say.
According to the Mansfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to 3 Arabian Court shortly before 11 p.m.
Police said when officers arrived, they determined that the incident began as a domestic dispute during which the husband argued with his wife and proceeded to assault her.
The husband then retrieved a handgun and shot his 21-year-old stepdaughter and 13-year-old stepson, police said.
According to police, both victims were transported to an area hospital by Mansfield paramedics. The mother is currently at the hospital with the victims.
Police said the husband was taken into custody without incident and was transported to jail.
The investigation into this shooting is ongoing, police said. The events that led up to the shooting and the current conditions of the victims are unknown at this time.
