hey everybody it’s doctor jo, and todayi’m going to show you how to use a percussion massager, or a massage handgun, for neck and shoulder aching. so let’s get started. so before we is starting, if big thing with shoulder and neck painis a lot of these muscles are connected. so that’s why a lot of experiences if you haveneck pain, you too have shoulder ache, or viceversa. if you’re having a lot of shoulder suffering, it might go up into the neck area so thisthis percussion massager is really nice because you can hold on to it and get agood grip and get behind you. some of the ones thatare see right there. and i’m gonna go back to the firstone just so you can hear me a little bit better. but it’sit’s it’s quiet you can you know notice that it’s nice and quiet and i reallylike that fact as well.Also if you if you’re intostudies uh some of the studies show that this isreally effective in preventing doms, which is a retarded onset of musclesoreness. and that’s when you’re not absces right away, but like a day or two later, 24 to 48 hours later, you’re really sore.so if you’ve done a ponderous exercising or something, and you get a nice deep tissuemassage in there, a lot of periods that will prevent that.so i wanted to show you on me as you can see that it’s you canyou can massage yourself. it’s definitely something that the practice you can hold onto it it manipulates pretty well, but you can also um if you have someonethat will do the rub for you sometimes you can get a little bitbetter placement if you have someone to massageit for you, or if you’re doing it on somebody else.so i need a model.Oh gaze it’s brian, mytrusty helper. so you can um i just want you to be able to see on himuh ways to do it. and i’m going to talk about a little bit thatlevator scapulae muscle because that’s the one that i really think is a goodone to come, and then that upper bait which is kind of over all of the area.so a lot of seasons you have a trigger point here.brian might start ow yeah that’s it, and then um one up in now which is theupper trap. so that’s usually where that levator scapulae muscle comes into theshoulder blade. so what i would do is you you don’t wantto push hard, the massager is going to do what you need.Soyou don’t have to kept a lot of force into it. and a lot of times if you havecirculation issues or sensation issues, that is a precaution aswell so make sure again you’re getting cleared.you don’t want to push so hard where it’s embarrassing because it shouldnever be pain. so you are eligible to kind of move it up intothe cervix locality where those muscles are, but you don’t want to go over the spine.you don’t want to go over the bony places because it’ll start bumping reallyweirdly then, but you want to stay on the muscle material. you want it to be thatsmooth motion. you can go even up into the hairline andthere, but again remember, you don’t want to go around to the front, and you don’treally want to go actually on the spine here.and so what a cool thing is if you want to work around the spine those musclesaround the spinous treats, they have one ofthe the heads here they call it the crotch head.and what’s really neat about this is it’s kind of designedto go on each side here.So you’re going up and down this acces, but then you’re nothitting that bony process there. this is something that establishes it nice because you’restill get those muscles right along the spine, but you’re not bumpingit on the bone which might be uncomfortable.so you can go all the way up into here. you can even go down into thethe thoracic back a little as well. and sohopefully that feels really good for brian. yeah get some nice massage inthere. so you can see that there’s um a bunchof different ways to do it and a assortment of differentmassage premiers to work on it. so that’s a very nice factor as well.and then you don’t want to see a whole lot of redness. it might get a little bitof redness, but again you’re not prod into it, you’re kind of allow the massager do all the work.and againif it’s awkward then you’re probably fight extremely hard-boiled, and you precisely want to do a little bit. you don’t want
