A ground stop has been issued for flights at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Tuesday amid the ongoing severe weather event.
Following overnight storms, additional weather is moving across North Texas Tuesday morning. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 A.M. for Dallas, Tarrant and counties north.
The ground stop is set to expire at 8:15 a.m., though there is a chance it could be extended. Earlier this morning, the ground stop was scheduled to expire at 7:15 a.m.
According to airport officials, arrival delays are averaging 26 minutes for airborne aircraft, and that time is currently increasing.
