SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Shreveport mayor-elect Tom Arceneaux will announce the city’s next CAO and interim finance director at a press conference Tuesday morning at his campaign office.
In an announcement, Arceneaux said the move is meant to establish competent oversight of those offices while a permanent selection is vetted.
“I intend to begin work on day one,” Arceneaux said. “I have selected two highly qualified individuals to take on our most important challenges. City operations and city finances are the backbone of our services to the public. I am removing the position of Chief Financial Officer and realigning the position of Finance Director as the City Charter intended.”
According to Arceneaux, those chosen to fill those positions permanently will be put before the city council for confirmation. But in the meantime, the interim selections were made to “keep the trains running on time.”
